Nollis Dewar born March 14, 1985, is an actor and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his film roles in XXenos (2019), Profited (2018) and Myron Gallimore (2017). Nollis is currently a series regular on the innovative award-winning mini-series Coconut Hut and Caribbean Roots.

His parents were teenagers at the time of his birth and both were unable to financially or mentally support a young child. His mother decided to leave him in care of his grandmother’ Vita Myrie shortly after his birth. At the age of four at his grandfather’s workplace “The Pork Pit” restaurant in Montego Bay Nollis met a woman by the name of Rosa Sanders. Ms. Sanders was an American citizen from Los Angeles, California visiting the Caribbean island with plans of starting a new life. Rosa Sanders purchased a breathtaking home in Montego Bay, Jamaica and adopted Nollis.

Nollis Dewar was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica to father Myron Dewar and mother Juliet Reid. His grandparents were born in Havana, Cuba but moved to Jamaica in 1930. Young Nollis spent his boyhood on the move, by the time he was fourteen he had attended ten different schools. He is the oldest sibling of six sisters and four brothers. 

July 21, 2001 Nollis migrated to the United States of America to pursue more opportunities. Nollis earned a scholarship to the University of Connecticut where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology. Nollis then attended the University of North Alabama where he studied theatre. In 2012 Nollis moved to Hollywood, California to pursue a career in filmmaking obeying a strict directive he received from his Theatre professor. Nollis has been featured in the New York Times, Bajun Sun Magazine, VoyageLA, Trinidad Express Newspaper, Blue Life Magazine, Episteme Magazine, Caribbean E-magazine and the Jamaica Observer newspaper.
